GRIT Website Terms of Use

grit.gg — the terms that apply when you visit our website

Capitalized terms used in this document and not defined here have the meanings given to them in the GRIT End User License Agreement (the “EULA”), Section 18 (Definitions).

1. What These Terms Cover

1.1 Scope. These Website Terms of Use (the “Website Terms”) apply to your access to and use of grit.gg and its pages (the “Website”), operated by Team Grit LLC, 1100 Bellevue Way NE, Ste 8A-557, Bellevue, WA 98004, U.S.A. (“TEAM GRIT®,” “we,” “us,” “our”).

1.2 What they do not cover. The Website Terms do not govern the game GRIT®. If you download, install, or play the Game, your use of it is governed by the GRIT End User License Agreement and the GRIT Code of Conduct. They also do not govern GRIT Ledger at ledger.grit.gg, which is a separate service with its own privacy notice.

1.3 Privacy. What we collect when you visit the Website is described in the GRIT Website Privacy Notice, which supplements the Team Grit Privacy Policy.

1.4 If you are a player. Where these Website Terms and the EULA both apply to something you do, the EULA controls (EULA Section 17.1).

2. Using the Website

2.1 You may. Read the Website, share links to it, quote and discuss it, and use the press and community assets we publish in accordance with the Content Creator Policy.

2.2 You may not:

(a) attack, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Website or the systems behind it, or bypass any security or access control;

(b) scrape, crawl, or harvest the Website in a way that imposes an unreasonable load on it, or that ignores our robots.txt or any rate limit we publish;

(c) copy substantial parts of the Website and republish them as your own, or present our content as though it were yours or as though we endorse you;

(d) use the Website to distribute malware, or to send unsolicited or deceptive communications;

(e) use the Website to infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights; or

(f) use the Website in violation of applicable law, including export control and sanctions law (see EULA Section 17.8).

2.3 Security research is welcome. Testing the Website for vulnerabilities in good faith is not a breach of Section 2.2(a), provided you follow the Security Disclosure Policy. That policy's safe harbor covers grit.gg and its subdomains.

3. What Is Ours

3.1 Website content. The Website and its content — text, layout, images, key art, video, audio, and code — are owned by Team Grit or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. GRIT® and Team Grit and their logos are trademarks of Team Grit and its affiliates.

3.2 What you may do with it. Permitted community, press, streaming, and creator uses of our trademarks, key art, screenshots, and gameplay footage are set out in the Content Creator Policy. That policy is deliberately generous; where it grants you more than this Section does, the Content Creator Policy applies.

3.3 Feedback. If you send us suggestions or ideas through the Website, EULA Section 6 (Feedback) applies to them.

4. Links and Third-Party Content

The Website may link to sites and services we do not operate — Steam, video and streaming platforms, social networks, and community sites among them. We do not control them, we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Your use of a linked site is governed by that site's own terms.

5. Availability and Changes

5.1 We may change the Website. We may add, alter, suspend, or remove any part of the Website at any time, including taking it down entirely. The Website is not the Game; nothing in this Section affects your rights in relation to the Game under the EULA, including the modification and notice provisions in EULA Section 9.

5.2 We may change these Website Terms. We will post the updated version with a new version number and effective date. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will say so prominently on the Website. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept it.

6. Disclaimers

6.1 As-is. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Website is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that the information on it is complete, accurate, or current.

6.2 Forward-looking information. Information about GRIT® on the Website — release dates, features, roadmaps, seasons, and similar — describes our plans at the time of publication. Plans change. Nothing on the Website is a promise that a particular feature will ship, or ship in a particular form, and no statement on the Website forms part of any contract between us.

6.3 If you have bought the Game. Section 6.2 applies to this Website. It does not limit your rights in respect of the Game itself, including any right you have under consumer law that the Game must correspond to the characteristics described in our public statements and advertising. Those rights are dealt with in the GRIT End User License Agreement and are not affected by anything on this Website.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1 To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither Team Grit nor its licensors, affiliates, or service providers will be liable for any loss of profits or any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Website.

7.2 Cap. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Website will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

7.3 Carve-outs. Nothing in these Website Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

8. Governing Law and Disputes

8.1 Governing law. These Website Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, U.S.A., exclusive of its choice of law rules.

8.2 If you are also a player. If you have accepted the EULA, any Dispute relating to the Website is a “Dispute” as defined in the EULA and is subject to the EULA's dispute resolution provisions, including Section 15 (Resolving Disputes) and Section 14 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction).

8.3 If you are not a player. If you have not accepted the EULA, you and Team Grit submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Superior Court of King County, Washington, or the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington, subject to Section 8.4.

8.4 Consumers in the EEA and the United Kingdom. Nothing in this Section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country, province, or state where you live, or prevents you from bringing proceedings in the courts of that country where local law gives you that right. The class action waiver and the two-year time limit in EULA Section 15 do not apply to consumers resident in the EEA or the UK — see EULA Annex A, Part 1.

9. General

9.1 Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, it will be enforced to the furthest extent permissible and the rest will remain in effect.

9.2 No waiver. Our failure or delay in exercising any right is not a waiver of it.

9.3 Entire agreement for the Website. These Website Terms, together with the GRIT Website Privacy Notice and the Content Creator Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Team Grit in relation to the Website. For players, the Player Agreements apply in addition, and the EULA controls on conflict.

9.4 Age. The Website is intended for a general audience. If you are under the age of majority where you live, please review these Website Terms with a parent or guardian. Age requirements for playing GRIT® are set out in the EULA.

9.5 No accounts, no purchases. The Website does not offer accounts, purchases, newsletters, or user submissions. GRIT® itself is sold through Steam, and there is no Team Grit account anywhere in the product. If we add any of these, we will update these Website Terms and the GRIT Website Privacy Notice first.
