grit.gg — what the website records when you visit, and what it doesn't
This notice covers grit.gg, our marketing and press website, operated by Team Grit LLC. It explains what we collect when you visit, why, and what you can do about it.
1. Relationship to the Team Grit Privacy Policy
This notice supplements the Team Grit Privacy Policy; it does not replace it. The Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information across all of the Services. This notice describes only what is specific to the grit.gg website. Where this notice is silent, the Privacy Policy applies. Where the two conflict, the Team Grit Privacy Policy controls, in accordance with Section 17.1 of the EULA.
Two neighbors worth distinguishing:
• The Game. What GRIT® collects while you play, including anti-cheat information, is in the Team Grit Privacy Policy.
• GRIT Ledger (ledger.grit.gg). The match-statistics site is a separate service with its own GRIT Ledger Privacy Notice. It is a different subdomain and it behaves differently: it publishes match data, and it sets a session cookie if you sign in. Nothing on grit.gg does either of those things.
Controller. Team Grit LLC, 1100 Bellevue Way NE, Ste 8A-557, Bellevue, WA 98004, U.S.A. is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. Contact privacy@grit.gg.
Capitalized terms used in this document and not defined here have the meanings given to them in the GRIT End User License Agreement (the “EULA”), Section 18 (Definitions).
2. What We Collect
You can browse the entire Website without giving us any personal information, and we do not keep a record of your visit. There is no account, no sign-in, no newsletter signup and no contact form. The Website is a set of static files served from storage, and we do not keep access logs for it — no record of your IP address, the pages you viewed, or when you visited.
Your browser necessarily transmits your IP address in order to receive the page, and our hosting provider processes it to deliver the content and to protect the service. We do not retain it and we do not use it to build a profile of you.
3. What We Do Not Collect
• No tracking cookies, no analytics services, no advertising services, no tracking pixels, no web beacons, and no third-party trackers.
• No account, no password, no email address, no name, no postal address, no phone number.
• No payment details — nothing is sold on this Website.
• No device fingerprinting, and no precise location.
• No user submissions, comments, or uploads.
4. Cookies and Local Storage
grit.gg sets no cookies of any kind. Not tracking cookies, not analytics cookies, and not session cookies — the site has nothing to keep track of.
We do not show a cookie consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to. If we ever introduce analytics, advertising, or any other non-essential technology, we will ask for your consent before setting it and update this notice first.
Cookies and local storage across all Team Grit websites are described in Section 6 of the Team Grit Privacy Policy.
5. Fonts, Media, and Other Third Parties
Typefaces. The typefaces used on this Website are served from our own infrastructure. Your browser does not contact any third party to render our pages — every image, font, stylesheet and video comes from grit.gg itself.
Video. The videos on this Website are hosted by us and play directly in your browser. No third-party video service is involved, so watching a trailer here does not tell anyone else that you did.
Hosting. The Website is hosted by Amazon Web Services, Inc., which acts as our processor under a written data processing agreement. Because the Website is a set of static files and access logging is switched off, there is no record of your visit for it to process.
Links. The Website links to services we do not operate, including Steam. Following a link takes you to that provider's own privacy practices — see Website Terms of Use, Section 4.
6. Our Legal Bases
• Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — delivering the pages you ask for and keeping the Website available and secure. Our interest is in running a working, secure website. The only personal information involved is the IP address your browser has to transmit in order to receive the page, which our hosting provider uses to deliver it and which we do not retain.
• Compliance with legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c)) — where we are required to retain or disclose records.
We do not process Website visitor information for marketing, profiling, or advertising. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not disclose it for targeted advertising.
7. Where It Is Stored
The Website stores nothing about your visit, so browsing it leaves nothing held anywhere. Team Grit is based in the United States, and our application, databases and websites are hosted there. The game servers players connect to run in Los Angeles, São Paulo, Frankfurt, Tokyo and Sydney. International transfers are described in Section 3 of the Team Grit Privacy Policy.
8. How Long We Keep It
We keep nothing from your visit to this Website, because we do not log it (Section 2). There is no retention period to state, because there is no record to retain. Retention for everything else Team Grit holds is in Section 4 of the Team Grit Privacy Policy.
9. Your Rights
Because we do not log visits to this Website, there is no Website data for us to give you, correct, or delete. You have the full set of rights over everything else we hold — access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to complain to your data protection authority. Those rights, US state privacy rights, the right to appeal a refused request within forty-five (45) days, and authorized agent requests are described in Sections 5, 7 and 8 of the Team Grit Privacy Policy.
To make a request, email privacy@grit.gg. We will respond within one month and will tell you if we need to extend that period.
10. Children
The Website is a general-audience marketing site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Because there is no account, no form, and no submission of any kind on the Website, there is nothing for a child to provide. How we handle children's and teen players' information in the Game and on GRIT Ledger is described in Section 10 of the Team Grit Privacy Policy and in the GRIT Ledger Privacy Notice.
11. Changes and Contact
We will update this notice, its version number, and its effective date if what we collect changes. Material changes are notified in accordance with Section 16 of the EULA. We do not publish an archive of previous versions.
