Capitalized terms used in this document and not defined here have the meanings given to them in the GRIT End User License Agreement (the “EULA”), Section 18 (Definitions).

1. Valve Handles Every Refund

GRIT® is sold and distributed exclusively through Steam. Valve Corporation is the merchant of record for the Game and for everything purchased in connection with it. Team Grit does not take payment, holds no payment details, and cannot issue, process, or reverse a refund.

Any purchase where local consumer law gives you a stronger rightValve, as the sellerYour statutory rights, which override anything in this Policy or Valve's.

Refund requests go to Valve through help.steampowered.com, and the terms and time limits that apply are Valve's own — check them there, because they are the only authoritative source. We cannot submit a request on your behalf, and we cannot overturn a decision Valve makes.

Do still contact us at support@grit.gg if something has gone wrong — an item that did not arrive, a purchase that did not work, a technical fault. We often can fix the underlying problem even though we cannot move money.

2. Seasonal Content and the CattlePass

2.1 What you are buying. A CattlePass gives you access to a seasonal progression track for the duration of that season. You are buying access to the track, not a guarantee of completing it — how far you get depends on how much you play.

2.2 If we shorten or change a season. If we materially and adversely change a CattlePass season after you have bought it — for example by shortening it substantially or removing advertised rewards — we will give reasonable advance notice under EULA Section 4.4 and offer an appropriate remedy, which may be an extension, a substitute reward, or a refund arranged through Valve. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK, you may also have a right to terminate and receive a proportionate refund under Article 19 of Directive (EU) 2019/770.

2.3 End of service. If we discontinue the Game or its online services, we will say in the end-of-service notice how unexpired seasonal content will be handled, and we will comply with applicable law.

3. Steam Keys

3.1 What they are. Codes we issue for GRIT® or for in-Game content are Steam keys. They are redeemed on Valve's platform and, once redeemed, the entitlement sits in your Steam library like any other Steam purchase.

3.2 Free keys. Keys we give away — through events, tournaments, press, or promotions — are issued at no charge and are not refundable, because nothing was paid for them.

3.3 Keys bought from a retailer. If you bought a key from an authorized retailer or in a bundle, your refund rights are with that retailer under their terms. We are not a party to that sale.

3.4 Keys that will not redeem. If a key we issued does not work, contact support@grit.gg with the key and where you got it, and we will investigate and replace it where we can.

4. If You Are a Consumer in the EEA or the UK

4.1 Your rights are against the seller. Because Valve sells GRIT® to you, your right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU — and, in the UK, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 — is exercised against Valve, on the terms of the Steam Subscriber Agreement. Valve operates its own withdrawal process.

4.2 Conformity. Separately from withdrawal, you have the right under Directive (EU) 2019/770 to have the Game conform to the contract and to receive the updates needed to keep it in conformity. Those rights are addressed in EULA Section 9.4 and Annex A, Part 1, and they are rights you have in relation to the Game itself, not only in relation to the sale.

4.3 Nothing here reduces them. These rights are free and cannot be signed away. Nothing in this Policy or in the other Player Agreements limits them.

5. If You Are a Consumer in Australia

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage, and to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality where the failure does not amount to a major failure. Nothing in this Policy excludes, restricts, or modifies those guarantees. See also EULA Annex A, Part 2.

6. Purchases by Children and Unrecognized Charges

6.1 A purchase you did not authorize. If a purchase was made on your Steam account without your authorization — by a child in your household or by anyone else — that is a matter for Valve, because Valve took the payment and Valve controls the account. Contact Steam Support.

6.2 We will help where we can. Valve is the only party that can refund a purchase, so Steam Support is the right place to start and usually the only place that can resolve it. If you have been through Steam Support and still have an unresolved problem relating to GRIT®, tell us at support@grit.gg and we will help if we are able to. In most cases there is nothing we can do, and we would rather say that plainly than have you wait on us.

6.3 Chargebacks. If Valve reverses a payment, any in-Game content granted on the strength of it may be removed (EULA Section 4.2). Contacting Steam Support is almost always faster than a bank chargeback, and does not affect your right to raise a dispute with your bank later.

7. Enforcement Actions and Refunds

A permanent ban terminates your license to the Game and withdraws your access to the online Services (GRIT Code of Conduct, Section 5.7). Team Grit determines what conduct breaches the Player Agreements and what enforcement action applies, as set out in Section 5.1 of the GRIT Code of Conduct.

Team Grit does not take your payment and does not issue refunds — for a ban or for anything else. Valve is the merchant of record for every GRIT® purchase, and whether Valve refunds you is Valve's decision under its own policy. Nothing in this Policy affects any statutory right you have that cannot be waived by agreement.

If a ban is overturned on appeal we restore your access and any items, progression, or ranking removed as a result, where technically possible.

8. Changes and Contact

We may update this Policy in accordance with Section 16 of the EULA. Changes to refund terms are treated as material and carry thirty (30) days' advance notice. The version in force at the time of your purchase applies to that purchase.

Refunds: help.steampowered.com. Everything else: support@grit.gg.
